# How to Set Up Maintenance Alerts

On the **Maintenance alerts** tab, you can configure various service interval reminders based on date or odometer reading. Please note that if a user adds a service interval reminder, they must also activate the associated alert on the [Alerts](https://support.gsfleet.io/knowledgebase/how-to-configure-device-settings-alerts-?hsLang=en)tab.

To create a maintenance interval reminder, press the "Create new" button. Then, select one of the following options:

- Alert type 
    - Date 
          - Repeat interval 
                  - Once
                  - Monthly
                  - Quarterly
                  - Half yearly
                  - Yearly
                  - Every two years
                  - Every three years
                  - Every four years
          - Date 
                  - Select the date on which you want the reminder to be sent
          - Message 
                  - Enter the message you wish to send to the reminder recipient in the message field
          - Save / Cancel
    - Odometer 
          - Repeat interval 
                  - Once
                  - Repeated 
                            - KM threshold
                            - Repeat interval
                            - Pre-alert (km before alert limit)
          - Message 
                  - Enter the message you wish to send to the reminder recipient in the message field
          - Save / Cancel

To remove a maintenance alert, navigate to the created reminder and press the Delete button. You can also deactivate or activate the alert, if desired.
