# How to Set Up Area Maintenance for Location Groups

In addition to grouping named locations, you can also create [maintenance areas](https://support.gsfleet.io/knowledgebase/how-to-monitor-area-maintenance?hsLang=en) from location groups. To modify regional maintenance settings, you must first create the desired location group and add the specific named locations to it. You can then access the settings by selecting the location group and navigating to Actions -\> Area maintenance settings.

You can create a new task by clicking the "Add new job" button.

The following settings can be defined for area maintenance:

- Active 
    - Is the area active or not
- Job description 
    - What work has been done in the area
- Device groups 
    - Determine which device group's device visits are to be taken into account in area maintenance
- Time required calculation method (defines how the duration of area maintenance work is calculated) 
    - Total time (in minutes)
    - Per square meter (seconds/square meter)
    - Visit area
- Time required 
    - The value of the task duration is determined according to the task duration calculation method
- Daily reset 
    - The time of day at which the work performed in the specific area-based care zone resets daily can be set
- Reset after work completed (Minutes)
