# How to Configure User Settings

**User** **settings** allow the user to customize their view and certain functions. This section covers user settings:

- Map settings: 
    - Live map refresh 
          - Affects how the map view updates (it is recommended to keep this on)
    - Auto-Zoom 
          - If selected, the map view automatically zooms after a certain period so that all selected vehicles are visible on the map
    - Device clustering 
          - Groups the devices visible in the map view, if selected. When zooming in on the map, the Paikannin.com expands the grouped devices, so they appear as individual devices on the map
    - Route colors by device state 
          - If selected, routes are displayed on the map view using different color codes based on status information
    - Device tail cut by 
          - Location
          - Time
    - Device tail length in minutes 
          - The length of the device tail shown for the devices on the map view, in minutes
    - Show named locations 
          - No 
                  - No named locations are shown in the map view
          - All 
                  - All created named locations are shown in the map view
          - Groups 
                  - If named locations are grouped, you can select which location groups' named locations are displayed on the map
    - Show geofences 
          - No 
                  - No geofences are shown in the map view
          - Yes 
                  - Geofences are shown in the map view
- Other settings: 
    - Show history devices 
          - Displays devices that have already been removed from use (historical devices) in the device menu's blue top bar. The device name is preceded by the marker (H), indicating a historical device
    - Default device groups 
          - No 
                  - No device groups are selected by default in the blue top bar when logging into the Paikannin.com
          - All 
                  - The blue top bar displays all device groups by default when logging into the Paikannin.com
          - Groups 
                  - The blue top bar displays the device groups selected by the user by default upon logging into the Paikannin.com
    - Minimum drive length (meters) 
          - Default is 200 meters. The Paikannin.com filters out trips shorter than this 
                  - Can be set to zero if you do not want any trips to be filtered out
    - Road overspeed threshold (km/h) 
          - Default 10 km/h
    - Report default time interval 
          - The setting allows you to define the time range from which reports retrieve the desired data by default (when report is created in Reports)
    - Timezone 
          - Set user’s timezone
- Device group viewer settings 
    - Enabled
    - Rotation interval between 10-60 seconds
